Super Fudgy Chocolate Cookies

Karen Sokol

These are Dad's favorite cookies AKA pooh logs.

2½ c. chocolate chips, semi-sweet

1 can sweetened condensed milk

3 T. margarine

1/2 tsp. soda

1 tsp. vanilla

2 c. flour

In a saucepan, warm the sweetened condensed milk and margarine. Bring almost to a boil but watch that it doesn't scorch. Take off heat and add the chocolate chips. Stir until they are completely melted. Add soda and vanilla. Stir in the flour.

Divide dough into 2 halves. Shape each into an 8" roll. Cut into 1/2" slices, place on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 7 to 8 minutes or until tops are slightly crusted. They can be soft cookies if you do not over bake them. Dad likes them crisp, baked for 10 minutes. Makes about 2½ dozen.
