Old-fashioned Lemon Sauce

Combine in saucepan:

1/2 c. butter

1 c. sugar

1/4 c. water

1 egg, well beaten

3 T. lemon juice (1 lemon)

Grated rind of 1 lemon

Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, just until mixture comes to a boil. Makes 1½ cup.
