Grandma's Oatmeal Cookies

This is Grandma Kate's original recipe. My mother used to send these, my favorite cookies, to me when I was a freshman at BYU in 1971-72.

1 c. butter or margarine

2 c. brown sugar

3 eggs

Cream together and add:

1 lb. ground raisons (lightly chop and/or process in food processer)

Add:

1 tsp. salt

2 tsp. cinnamon

1/2 tsp. nutmeg

1/2 tsp. cloves

1 c. milk

1 tsp. soda, dissolved in the milk

Mix well and add 3 c. oatmeal and 3 c. of flour

Drop spoonfuls onto greased cookie sheets. Bake at 375 degrees for about 15 minutes.
