Make dough using roll recipe. Roll out into a rectangle on floured countertop.
Pour 1/3 c. melted (not too hot) butter on top of dough and spread evenly with fingertips. Sprinkle 3/4 c. brown sugar and 1 tsp. cinnamon on top. Add raisins, optional.
Roll up into a snug roll. Cut into 1½ " slices and place on a baking sheet. If you want, you can place them in a 13 X 9" pan, barely touching each other for soft-sided cinnamon rolls. Let rise about 45 minutes to an hour. Bake at 375 degrees for about 24 minutes or until they are golden. Frost when cooled.
Frosting:
Melt 1/4 c. butter and 1/3 c. evaporated milk in a saucepan. Remove from heat.
Add 1/2 tsp. vanilla and beat in about 2 c. powdered sugar with a hand mixer until desired consistency.
