1 T. dry yeast
1/2 warm water
1 c. milk (scalded)
2 T. sugar
1 beaten egg
1 stick butter or margarine
Parmesan cheese
2 T. shortening
1 tsp. salt
Garlic salt
3½ c. flour
Soften yeast in warm water. In a large bowl, put scalded milk, cool. Add shortening, sugar, salt and egg. Then add dissolved yeast. Beat in flour.
Cover and let double. Punch down, pull off small amounts and roll into bread sticks. Lay strips crosswise on baking pan. Melt butter, add garlic salt to taste and
pour over bread sticks. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Let rise until doubled in size. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes, until lightly browned.
