Braided Bread

Karen Sokol

4 and 1/2 c. hot water

1 c. oil

2/3 c. honey

3 eggs

2 T. salt

3 T. yeast

About 10 to 12 c. white flour

Dissolve the yeast in 1/2 c. warm water along with 2 tsp. sugar. The sugar feeds the yeast and helps it grow. Set aside until it doubles and bubbles. Combine the water, oil, honey, eggs, and salt. Add the yeast and knead for 4 minutes. Let dough rest for 15 minutes before shaping. This makes 4 very large braided loaves. You can make it into 6 or how many you want. After braiding, let loaves rise until nearly doubled. Bake 350 degrees for 20 minutes.
