Cherry Pie Filling

If using prepared cherry pie filling, a few additions to make it even better.

For one 9" pie, use two cans (21 oz. each) prepared cherry pie filling.


2 T. cornstarch

3 T. water

1/4 tsp. nutmeg

1 T. sugar

1 T. butter or margarine


Heat filling in saucepan to a boil. Add mixture of 2 T. cornstarch dissolved 3 T. water. Add 1/4 tsp. nutmeg, 1 T. sugar, and 1 T. butter or margarine. Stir gently until mixed, thickened, and boiling. Pour into crust. Place top crust over filling. Spread beaten egg over all. Bake at 450 degrees for 13 to 15 minutes. Makes one 9" pie.
